Smart Marketing For Your Website

This is a fiercely competitive time, both online and offline. If you own a business, then having a company web site is not just an added advantage, but a necessary thing today! What do you do? You want to create a web site; you get the necessary registration and hire people to design the web site for you. Then you decide that your web site should have specific content and your web designers will spice up your web site for increasing popularity. But even after having a great design and good content, if you do not have may people visiting your web site, the flaw is in your marketing!

The first thing to do:

Include your website URL in all your offline advertising campaigns. Let your existing customers know that you now have an online presence. If you are sending out emails or even snail mail, make sure to include your web site details so that they can check out your company online. If you are giving out promotional products, print your website address on all such items so that customers need not hunt for phone numbers or wait endlessly for information. Use press releases well.

Next, submit your web address to the right places-search engines, web directories and classifieds. Strong links will direct target traffic to your web site. Your URL must ideally be relevant and make customers identify your company. Make good use of backlink strategy. But make sure that you host relevant links and not spam links. Deceptive tactics could be disastrous in the long run, so beware. RSS and similar feeds can help. Make sure your staff uses the website to interact with customers.

Get active on the internet communities. Get to blogs and post relevant comments, not spam! Include your URL for user’s convenience. Encourage interaction and show them that your company is open to feedback. Go for an attractive newsletter and give them relevant news items that would help them. Get closer to the public and make them more interested in your company.

Update your content regularly. Do not deviate from the topics. Make sure you have good content that people want to read about. Don’t put too much on your site either. Do not go overboard with design.

These simplestrategies will go a long way in promoting your website and ultimately, your brand name!
