I have used Keyword Elite for a while now and although it is not the only keyword tool that I use I have to admit its one of the best I have tried.
Keyword elite gives you five different options from when you first open up the software these are;
1. Create a keyword list
2. Analyse Pay Per Click Listings
3. Select a Keyword List
4. Analyse Keyword Competition
5. Spying on AdWords Competition
Each of these options offer major advantages in both saving time and uncovering some great keywords however I would say the main ones I use are 1 and 2.
Create a keyword list
This is the first stage of performing any keyword research this is where you can type in your primary keyword and enter the number of keyword results you want keyword elite to display. Keyword elite will display a minimum of 100 and a maximum of 10,000 personally I think 10,000 is slightly excessive then again if you were wanting to really hammer down on the specific keywords for your website then perhaps 10,000 keyword results would be useful to you. Not only do you have the choice of an extremely large range of keyword results, Keyword Elite also retrieves related keyword terms so that you don’t have to.
Keyword elite creates a list by retrieving results from overture, the Google keyword suggestion tool, Ask.com, and Yahoo. One of the great things about this project is that it allows you to edit the results list so that you can remove certain keyword phrases containing specific words as well as this you can also limit the amount of words each keyword has.
Overall I felt from just this one tool keyword elite was beginning to become my favourite keyword tool. You can definitely make your money back on this keyword tool if you know how to take advantage of highly searched keywords and know a little SEO.
Analyse Pay Per Click Listings
This second options works in conjunction to option one. It allows you to choose where to mine the keyword data from for example Google, Ask.com. You can also pick a special criteria what these allows you to do is view the KEI, Top bids or title results. This project gives you a rough idea of the amount of competition that is currently surrounding your keyword list as well as the amount people are paying per click for certain keywords.
Select a Keyword list
This project allows you to choose from one of the thousands of pre built keyword lists that comes with keyword elite. I haven’t really used this section much I am assuming it’s more of a project for people who are not quite sure what to do research for. However overall I have nothing to complain about with this section, may as well be part of the overall keyword software.
Analyse Keyword Competition
This project allows you to check out your competition for certain keywords, it allows you to specify how many keywords to look up and how many sites are returned per keyword.
Keyword elite returns with the overall amount of competition that the keyword has, the pagerank of the competitions websites and the location of the keyword on the websites.
Overall I found this project quite interesting in finding out how easy a certain keyword may be for optimising your website for and ranking on the search engines, however there are other factors you may also want to take in to consideration.
Spy on Adwords competition
This is the one section that I can’t really give a great opinion or verdict on as I don’t use Google Adwords and hopefully never will need to. However I shall give an overall explanation of this section.
It takes a while to fully understand how to work this project and understand what is actually going on and I am still not sure whether I fully understand this section. For anyone experienced with Google Adwords and tracking your competition then I am sure you can quite easily get to grips with this section.
Basically this section allows you to search for specific details on a certain URL which you type in yourself. It also asks you to add some keywords to the project so keyword elite can check whether or not that the website currently advertises on Google for those keywords. If the answer is yes then keyword elite will bring back specific advert details for those keywords.
I am sure this would be a great feature for anyone who uses Google Adwords or is just curious as to how competitor’s websites receive so much traffic. Overall this section seems to have about everything you need to know about your competitions Google Adwords campaign.
The conclusion
Overall my verdict is that Keyword Elite is one heavy keyword research tool. It has everything you would need to create a solid keyword research compilation for optimising your website or spying on your competition.
Keyword Elite brings back some very specific results which with the right knowledge can be taken advantage of extremely, for the expert I feel that this software is exactly what they need.
Newbie’s to keyword research can easily take advantage of its simplistic design and interface by compiling a list of thousands of relevant keywords which they can then put to use by optimising their website.
Experts can also use the software to scrutinise every possible short tail or long tail keyword so that they can take advantage of those keywords and increase traffic to their website by optimising their websites with these in mind.
