This is your first step to creating your proxy website; you need your domain name. This will allow users to enter your website via direct search, referring search or search engines.
So what are your choices, well you can buy a pre-existing domain name of a fellow web master the benefits of this are that the domain may already have back links to the website and a stable flow of traffic. However watch out if you choose to buy a pre-existing domain make sure it is not about to expire and also if they are trying to sell the domain with a page rank check to see that the page rank of the domain is valid. You can check that here:
If you would rather register a totally brand new domain you can search for domains that have not yet been registered here:
This will allow you to start from scratch; the domain will obviously have no back links already and will most probably have no traffic.
Also some people advise that you look for or register a domain which has no relevancy with proxy sites at all. By this I mean the domain name will not have any keywords that could be related to proxy sites with in it. For example:
This has no relevancy to proxy sites and also looks like the type of website that a school pupil should be viewing from school. However I have yet to see proof that by doing this it benefits your website, although personally I would say that having a website called www.reviseonline.info instead of a domain name which may include a keyword like proxy, or bypass which suggests it may be used to bypass filters would be beneficial as it may take longer for administrator or technicians to notice that it is a proxy site. There are negatives along with choosing to go for a domain which has no relevant keywords towards proxy sites when it comes to being indexed by search engines and receiving search engine traffic. As the domain does not sound related to proxy sites, search engines may take longer to identify the site to be a proxy site.
