Earning from a Proxy Site

Next I shall advise you on where and how to advertise your proxy website. There are hundreds of free ways to promote your proxy sites throughout the Internet, however only some are worth the effort and time. What I shall do is point out which advertising methods tend to work with the best out comes. I shall also advise you on some proxy advertising websites that specialize in promoting and advertising proxy sites for a small fee.

If we first start with the free advertising methods then move on to the paid advertising methods. The first and one of the most important methods I believe is search engine submission. I would not really call this an advertisement method as such as the response in which you get from this will not be noticeable for a couple o f months however long term the benefits can be large.

It will not only get your website indexed however it will also over time bring in traffic. As your proxy site's page positioning for certain keywords increases month after month the amount of search engine traffic you will receive will increase. Obviously this works better on the more highly searched key terms like proxy and myspace proxies. Search engine submission only takes a matter of minutes and it is not complicated at all. The three main search engines you want to submit to are Google, Yahoo and MSN. I have seen the most benefits with Google however recently with my own proxy site I have started to see an increase in traffic coming from both Yahoo and MSN.

The reason I have only put these links in are because really these are the only search engines you need to submit your proxy site to. A lot of the other inferior search engines tend to reflect what is on these three and copy it on to their own sites. Therefore you will be indexed with in most of these anyways. Also over time other search engines will index your pages anyways.

Secondly we have forum signatures if your an active member of any forums then put your proxy sites in the signature. These are beneficial in two ways, firstly in some forums you receive links back to your proxy site every time you post on the forums which will therefore increase page positioning and also increase your page rank. Secondly you may receive free traffic from your signature on the forums.

Banner exchange programmes is another strategy which is sometimes overlooked however this can act as a great strategy to bringing in the traffic when developed correctly. Having your banner on a website in the same niche can bring a surge of people to your website. However when using this strategy be sure to ask for proof of traffic perhaps from aw stats or Google analytics. Also make sure to check your banner has been placed in the correct place and that it stays up on the website for the correct amount of time.

Link exchanges is another good form of advertising and again if done correctly with the same niched website you can benefit from large surges of traffic. It is best to try and find a website in the same niche however not offering the same services. So for example you will exchange a link on your proxy site to a website which provides a proxy list.

This gives you the choice of a paid proxy listing or a free proxy listing, as you can see they also offer many other proxy packages which we shall touch upon later.

Email signatures are another source of traffic and can get your proxy site URL out among the others. This method is hard to track traffic from as you do not know where they may of referred from however for the time it takes it is worth doing. I think it makes emails look professional too.

Yahoo and Google groups is another great source of advertising and can bring a lot of traffic in however this can be very time consuming. I spend 3-4 hours a day using this technique to drive traffic to my proxy sites and other peoples proxy sites. As I offer it as a service, if you do not have the time to dedicate to promoting your proxy sites you can pay a professional proxy advertiser to do this for you. However be sure to research the seller of the service ensure the service is actually going to benefit you. Check for reviews or testimonials of the service and also check for statistics that they provide showing what sort of traffic you may see through the services.

Yahoo answers is another way of advertising your proxy site however again it can be very time consuming. Although it can have large benefits from bringing a large amount of targeted users to your website who may be returning users. The idea is that many people ask for new developed, fresh, unblocked proxy sites in which they can get to their favorite sites through. What you do is answer these people with a nice short explanation of your proxy site and the 100% guaranteed service that it provides. You can write a generic answer in which you can copy and paste to each question that asks for new proxy sites, however as you can probably imagine it gets very time consuming.

Site Submission to Search Engines
Well, you were stating about the site submissions using addurl at google. is this better than Google Analytics and Webmasters?

To submit your website's URL to Google you will need to use http://www.google.com/addurl/ otherwise you can automatically submit the URL via software however i prefer manually submitting website URLs to ensure they are correctly done.

Google analytics will track the traffic of your website, listing the referals and the amount of unique visitors and page views, this is very useful to see whether a certain marketing strategy is effective or not.

Google webmasters allows you to track your top 20 rankings in the search engines, not only this it also tracks which bring the highest traffic, the amount of links your website has and much more useful information.
