Blogging Idol Week one

Before the competition started I had some strategies in mind, however my lack of experience in gaining RSS subscribers hinders the success of my website. However I feel very positive and know that I can gain a lot of experience and success throughout the competition if I utilize the right frame of mind.

I think with any aims that you have you need a variety of strategies to keep you on track and ensure you do not steer away from your overall aims that you want to achieve.

My aim is to reach 1,000 subscribers by Christmas and the strategies I will use to achieve this are quality content, marketing and advertising my website and blog commenting.

First weeks strategies

1. Submitted my RSS feed to 50 RSS directories (this is something I was rather sceptical about however it only took a couple of seconds on each directory) so I felt it was worth the time.

2. Blog commenting this is an advertising technique which I feel can have a large effect on ones website, if the comments include useful informative information which may help the readers and highlight points to the writer. Blog commenting proves to increase both traffic and backlinks (if the blog is dofollow).

3. My main strategy, to not only increase RSS subscribers but my overall strategy for my website is to ensure I provide informative, quality written and useful content which users will read and feel educated, entertained and impressed. For some people this can be a hard strategy to fulfil including myself, people whom may not be to smart with their English and may not have an extended vocabulary.

However there are ways of improving your writing, if you’re committed to blogging and feel you’re English could do with being improved then you need to read and write daily. Read a variety of blogs both relevant to your market and ones that are not. Read books, newspapers, socialise on forums and read and write their too, write articles daily and all of this will improve your writing skills, therefore improving the quality of your content.

I hope this helps you to increase your subscriber count as well as your overall blog. If you liked this article then subscribe to my website for more.
